About the SOPHA Scholarship
     The Switzerland of Ohio Polled Hereford Association offers a college scholarship annually to an outstanding student who is pursuing a college degree. Selections are made by the SOPHA scholarship committee on a competitive basis. Awardees are announced at the annual SOPHA spring sale in May.

Submission Deadline: April 1 of each calendar year

REQUIREMENTS
1. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or in college.

2. Applicant must have a minimum of three years involvement with
Herefords or Hereford cross cattle (showing cattle is not a requirement).

3. A minimum grade point average of 2.5 is required.

4. Applicant cannot have previously received a scholarship from SOPHA.
Individuals may receive a SOPHA scholarship ONLY ONCE.

5. A letter of recommendation from an adult (teacher, employer, advisor, etc)
must be provided

Persons interested in making a donation to the scholarship fund may contact SOPHA officers. There are three donation levels: Gold, Silver, and Bronze, based on the amount of the donation. All donations are tax deductible.
